Somatic Therapy
This style of talk therapy draws on modern neuroscience and body-centered techniques to foster a deeper connection to oneself and promote meaningful change.
Are you looking for evidence-based techniques to deepen self-awareness and encourage positive growth? Somatic Therapy helps my clients experience compassionate shifts by connecting mind and body, transforming emotional patterns, mental processes, and physical responses.
What is Somatic Therapy?
This therapeutic method recognizes that our bodies often hold onto stress, trauma, and unresolved emotions, which can contribute to ongoing physical symptoms. By gently guiding clients to tune into bodily sensations and release tension, somatic therapy addresses both emotional and physical pain. This approach not only helps to relieve symptoms but also fosters a deeper understanding of how past experiences affect the body, empowering clients to develop new ways to cope and feel more at ease in their everyday lives.
What does a typical session look like?
In a typical somatic therapy session we start with conversation, where we explore a current issue you’re experiencing—whether it’s something showing up in your body, mind, or life. This discussion helps us get a clear sense of what’s most relevant for you to work on. From there, we’ll try one or more somatic techniques designed to shift how you experience the issue, working together to find what feels supportive. Toward the end, we wrap up with a final discussion to deepen your insights and ground the experience. Each session is client-led, meaning you have complete freedom to choose what we focus on, and every tool or technique is offered invitationally—nothing is required. My goal is to create a space that’s safe, flexible, and centered on what feels right for you.
